St. Petersburg has issued a statement that Admiral Rozhdestveneky defeated several Japanese warships. Latost advices from Madagascar confirm the Times statement cabled on the 21st that Admiral Rozhdeß&veneky sailed only five days ago have been received. Another advice says that be is still hanging übout Madagascar waters.

A Reuter correspondent with General Kuroki’s head quarters stated that there was heavy firing to tbo westward all Thursday. Apparently the largest engagement Bunco Ootober has taken place. The Russians crossed the Hunho on General Oka’s left. The Japanese advanced against them and are now attacking.
