A LICENSING CASE. (Per Press Association.) Waihi, last night. An interesting case was heard last night before Mr R. S. Bush, S.M. Two wellknown and respectable respectable residents, Richard Spratt and Harold Lewis, was charged with being on liconsod promises, the Central Hotel, during prohibited hours. The evidence showed that defendants had, at the invitation of a lodger, dined at the hotel on Christmas day. The magistrato hold that defendants had committed no broach of the Act. ALLEGED FORGERY. Walter Donnelly, charged with the forgory of R cheque for £‘l 4s, was committed to the Supreme Court for trial.
