BUTTER SCANDAL.

“ ONLY BROKERAGE.” By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Sydney, Jan. 26. Tho Superintendent of the P. and O. Company states that the finding of tho Butter Commission is nothing short of a malicious libel. Commercial people regard tho proceedings as purely of a farcical character. If the matter were not so serious the recommendations of the Commission could only be regarded as a farce. The report makes a point of the large amount of freight paid, but no notice is taken of tho amount invested to earn the freight. He reiterates that the companies only paid brokerage.
