ADDINGTON MARKET.
(Per Press 'Association.^ Christchurch, last night. Fat cattle : The yarding comprised 201 head, and was of good quality. Business was extremely dull, butchers appearing not to want beef. Many lots of good cattle were passed without a bid. Prices consequently fell 10s to LI per head, and the cattle sold went at the rate of 203 to 21s for good to prime beef, and 17s 6d to 19s for inferior to medium. The prioos current were : Steers L 6 17s 6d to L 9 10s, heifers L 5 7s 6d to L 7 ss, cows L 5 to L 7 12s 6d.
Fat sheep.—The supply was moderato in number, and consisted chiefly of ewes of medium to prime quality. Tho sale went well and thsro was no quotable change from last week’s values. Butchers wore the principal operators. The prices realised were:—Wethers 19s to 23s 2d, prime heavy owes 19s to 21s 3d, medium ewes 16s to 18s 6d.
Pigs : All classes woro well represented, and business generally was bettor than at the last two or three soles. There was little improvement in the prices of baconers and porkers, but stores were dearer. Baconers sold at 36s 6d to 53s 6d, equal.4d to 4 ; }d per lb ; porkers 283 to 355, or 41 d to 4:?d ; Btores, large 22s to 325, medium 16s to 20s. small 9s to 14s.
