One omployoo diod of heat apoplexy. Received 5.20 p.m., Jan 15. Melbourne, Jan 15. Bush fires swept tho country for 50 miles around Ballarat. Great damage has been done to crops in Clarendon, Lallal, SmcotOD, Clones, and Mucedon districts. Throe deaths from boat apoplexy occurred at Bendigo. The thermometer rogistorod 114 in tho shade. Fires aro causing much devastation.

GREAT DESTRUCTION. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyflgnt Received 12.47 a.m., Jan. 16. Melbourne, Jan 15. Reports of intonso heat and bush fires continue to como to hand. Several more deaths have occurred from the heat. Several bridges on Trewalla property, Streatao, Blytbevale, and Emu stations have been swept away. Grass, hundreds of sheep, and miles of fencing have been destroyed.
