MINERS STRIKE.
DEFY ARBITRATION COURT.

Tho Hetton colliery owners have notified the Proprietors’ Association that they have arranged with the wheelers to resume, paying last year’s rates. This break-away greatly weakens the masters’ position.

The Attorney-General has deoided to take proceedings against all colliers who have brought themselves within the criminal sections of the Arbitration Aot. The Heaton colliery has resumed, but the Pelaw Main ie again idle. : Some alone-throwing has been indulged in at the latter mine. A force of police are now stationed there.
