A orowd such as has not been seen in the precincts of the Exohange buildings for many years gathered to'see the result of the first call, and at the two subsequent calls there were similar gatherings, and a good deal of excitement over the phenomenal rise in Waiotabisl When the shares were oallihg there wore sellers at £2O, but it was some time before buyers .got near enough for businesß. Luter oh, however, shares ohanged bands at £l9 and at £l9 10s, and.' at the noon call £2O. was reaohed, but by the afternoon there was an, easier tone in the market, and sales took plaoe at £l9 ss, with more offering at the same money and bo buyers.
