Auoklaod, last night. The inqnestton Mrs Dillon .had to be adjourned, till Saturday owing to witnesses not appearing.* The police were instruoted to ensure, the attenddnoe of.several persons. It is alleged that 'the condition in which .the body. and-, olothea of ’ the dead, 'woman were found affords indications of an attempt to oommit a criminal assault. Murton, who is charged with manslaugh ter and remanded, is a powerfully built young man, 82 years of age, lately employed on one of the steamers plying oh the Waikato'river. •- He has’ also worked et flaxmills. Mrs Dflon was an old lady, apparently between-65 and 60 years,’of age. Her bueband, John Dillon, served in the Waikato war as'one of the Imperial Regiment, and is now residing in Auckland, be aod. bis wife ; having been separated for some few yearn past.
