Dunedin, last night. Shearing has been greatly hindered in the baek country by snow, hail, and bitterly cold rain. Shearers have been soaree, and a country correspondent says that in hia district “only the largest sheds are being worked under the Arbitration Court award. Shearers demand £1 per 100 for flocks up to 1000, and 16s 8d for flooks up to 6000. Thera haa been the usual trouble with wet sheep, and the men eare no more for the award than if it were so much waste paper.” _ - The weather conditions have Improved, bnt the wind still keeps to the southward, and it is cold ont of the sun.
