Cr. Harding' said that the watering o the streets [had not been a auooess for some time past. The dost had been blinding and shopkeepers had much to complain about. He suggested that- the streets be satnrafed twice a week as.far as the mains went. • . • . . o * * .*
Cr Miller said that -some better system .might bo. adopted. He thought that a repoxl should be obtained. Cr Morrison thought elevated tanks might be adopted. It was deoided to obtain a report as to an . improved method of . watering tho street. ' ’■

Cr Harding drew attention to the condition o£. the.tfootbridge at ;the 'end' of Lowe'street,'whioh was in a very bad condition. He : thonght the road shonld be established, to the beach, and moved that the Public Works Committee report on the subject. •: They had been given authority by the natives to take a road through to the beach, and- the right shonld be eatabliehed.
