£Fer Press Association.) Nelson, last night. The Premier paid a short visit to Nelson last night on the way to Greymouth, being the guest of Mr Trask, M.L.C. When interviewed, he said he was on a holiday trip resting from the strain of the session. He had not much to say. He received ono deputation from the Education Board, and promised on his return to Wellington to re-open correspondence on the question of the transfer of the old gaol site for a school in lieu of the Toitoi Valley site. Ho said that in his opinion there would be no war just yet, anyway at this season of the year- Russia had boen asserting herself in Manchuria. If war occurred in all probability she would be dislodged. The latest news from Homo waß that Mr Chamberlain was gaining ground in his advocacy of preferential trade. In regard to the session, ho said the work done was the best for many years, and even the Opposition press would ogreo in time that all the moasures passed wero good ones. No session since 1877 had done such a largo extent of busi ness, passing 25 important Acts.
