On and after January Jst, the East /Coast Coaching Company’s coaches ’will leave Gisborne for the Coast every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning. (imported), bred by Mr Keroyd, England, and Bolenda Rose, bred 'by Mr Fantham. Mr Hawley, Collector of Customs, has received instructions to hold nn enquiry into the death of Mr Buckeridge on the Kai-Ora. The enquiry will bo held early next week.

The Trocudero Refreshment Rooms have been very tastefully decorated for the Christmas season. An arch of asparagus has been erected at tbs head of the staircase, and Chinese lauterns and other illuminating effects givo tho rooms a very pleasing appearance. Much indignation was expressed yesterday at the action of the Borough Council in closing a portion of the main street just on Christmas Eve. Those specially concerned say that they would not mind submitting to some inconvenienco to have the road tarred, but why of all the days in tho year the busiest should be chosen is what they cannot understand. There is cortainly strong ground for the complaint at such a busy time.

In St. Andrew’s Church on Sunday morning the subject of sermon will be “ The Babe, the Wise Men and the King,” and in the evening the subject of lecture will be ’• The New Partner taken into the Firm for 1904.” Christmas hymns and anthems. Strangers cordially invited. Tho Native Land Court, under Judge Jones and Hapi Kiniha (Assessor), which has boon sitting for some time, yesterday adjourned until after the holidays. The Court has boon making steady progress, holding daily sittings, and, among other matters, incorporating a number of timberbearing blocks for the purpose of their beiog dealt with by the Muori Land Council.
