A WRECK.
By Telegraph—Press Association -Copyright New York, Dee. 22. Tho livery stablo drivers on strilio in Chicago forcibly prevent burials. Many bodies are lying in the undertakers’ vaults awaiting burial. In some cases tho relatives have gone to tho graves armed to prevont interference.
Per Press Association. Westport, last night. A resident of Ngakawau reports that when travelling from Karamea ha noticed a lot of wreckage strown along tho beach over a distance of 20 miles. In his opinion tho vessel lost must havo been a small schooner. The wreckage consisted chiefly of pieces of cabin fittings, doors, hatches, ono small bucket, and a tub painted green. A dog’s head carved from Baltic or American pine, probably a figure head, was also found. Two weeks ago tho Poherua saw a three-masted schooner off the land at Rocks Point. It was blowing hard at the time.
