LATE NEW ZEALAND.
Pci Press Association. Greymouth, last night. A salo of sections of Duunollie township, alongside the State coal mine, was held to-day. Thirty-two sections sold at prices varying from £l3O to £SO. The sale realised £2002. Mr Macdougall, the owner of the land, said probably no more wouid bo sold until the township was roaded and cleared. The auctioneer was tho Hon. T. K. Macdonald.
Invercargill, last night. Tho creditors of Timothy Clifford, laborer, resolved to day to prosecute him for fraudulent bankruptcy. He had secured a Government leasehold, and sent out orders for timber, etc., to build a house on it. These, signed T. Clifford, were supposed to be from Thomas Clifford, a man of some substance in the district. They were filled without suspicion. As the materials are all on Crown land the creditors cannot touch tho house. The assignee said that enquiries at the Government Lending Department showed that bankrupt had not tried to raise money from them to pay debts, as he might have done. Debtor did not appear, but wrote that he could not raise twenty shillings to pay his creditors.
