CHURCHILL’S CRITICISMS.

By Telegraph—Press Association - Copyright Received 1.6 a.m., Dec. 22. London, Deo, 21. Mr Churchill, in a letter to Mr Homo, Liberal candidate for Ludlow, where a vacancy occurred through the death of Mr More, says that freetrade involves two conditions, each of profound importance to the electors—cheap food aud honest government. Mr Chamberlain's victory would deprive the nation of both of these. It was expedient to consider whether or not the time had come for freetraders of all parties to be united against the common enemy. Millions of freetraders in Germany and America, despite monopolies and all kinds of corruption, wore struggling toward that liberty and justice which we enjoy. We must not extinguish our lamp of economy and truth among nations when it was most needed.
