TOKOMARU BAY.
(From Our Own Correspondent); At last the weather appears to have taken up, and shearing is in full swing. The police arc now out at the Mata oil business connected with Hie robberies mentioned last week.
The annual meeting of the Tokoma.ru Racing Club was held last .week. About 20 members attended. The report and balance-sheet showed the Club to he in a fair financial position. It was decided to buhl the races on the 10th of March, which will he the Saturday following the Tolago meeting. Mr James Fitzgerald was elected President of the I Club. Mr Forrester was re-elected secretary and treasurer, and a vote of thanks was passed to him for his past services. Mr Fairlie was appointed starter, and Mr Iluka clerk of the course, Mr Perry clerk of the scales, Mr W. B. Mill liandicappcr, and Mr llindmarsh judge. There were ten vice-presidents and twelve .stewards appointed. Quite a good race meeting is anticipated.
Several houses have been broken into during the past winter in . the township. Great interest is being taken in
the visit of the Motu cricket team which Mr Small, the captain, 3s. expected to bring over to Tokomaru shortly.
