PRICES UNCHANGED.

At tho Addington saleyards to-day the yarding of stock was smaller than usual. There was a fair attendance of buyors. Fat cattle : The yarding numbered 239, including a fair proportion of prime quality steers and heifers. The sale opened slack and several lines were passed, but afterwards bidding became more regular at a shade under late rates. Seventeen heifers from Messrs H. D. and J. Buchanan’s (Kinloch) realised from £8 5s to £8 15s, 37 North Island steers £9 15s to £l3 10s, and 11 steers from Mr W. F. Buckley’s (Hoon Hay) from £lO 2s 6d to £lllos. Other steers brought from £7 to £ll 11s, heifers £6 2s 6d to £8 ss, cows £7 15s. The price of beef ruled at from 23s to 25s per 1001 b. Fat lambs: The entry totalled 1212, a fair advance oa recent yardings. There were one or two pens of very prime quality, and the bulk of the lambs offered were in good condition. Freezing buyers operated far more than before, giving from 12s 6d to 16s, and up to 17s 3d for tegs. Butchers gave from 11s 6d to 16s 9d,

Fat sheep: The entry was much smaller than usual, and the quality very mixed. Freezer buyers bid for all prime lines, but they were out-bid by the butchors, prices for wethers and best quality ewes being firm in consequence. Unfinished lines were comparatively neglected. The range of prices was about —wethers 18s to 20s sd, lighter 15s 6d to 17s 68, best ewes 14s fid to 17s 9d, unfinished 8s 6d to 10s 6d.

Store sheep : The entry numbered 1669 of mixed sorts, and met with a demand that was scarcely so keen as has been the case recently, several lots being passed. The chief sales were 50 ewes and lambs at 10s 9d, 374 at 10s lOd, 114 two and four tooth ewes at 14s 6d, 55 full mouthed at 9s, 115 two tooth wethers at 16s sd.

Pigs: A fairly good entry met with a slack inquiry, and a further drop was shown. Baconers brought from 40s to 50s 6d, equal to from 3fd to 4d per lb ; porkers from 32s to 38s, equal to 4jd per lb ; large stores brought from 25s to 27s 6d, medium 14s to 22s 6d, and weaners 8s to 12s 6d,
