(Per Press Association.) NELSON, last night

Mr Leslie Reynolds has commenced an action for damages against the Nelson Harbor Board, claiming for breach of agreement, £2500 for preparing plans and specifications, £IOO7 ; for detention of his assistant, £SI ; for progress payments from June, 1002, until October last, £825, making a total of £4423.

The Minister of Marine lias written ■a reply to Major Franklyne’s protest against the proposed deviation, to (he effect that no request to deviate has been made, and that the Board is not empowered to make a deviation unless authorised by the .Gover-nor-in-Council.
