(Per Press AUCKLAND, last night. Deputations to Sir J. G. Ward today included one from the Auckland Acclimatisation Society. Among other matters the deputation urged the Minister to increase the fees for trout fishing licenses fixed by the re-cently-issued regulations, anil to fix the opening of the fishing season for ‘November instead of October 1 as at present, the. latter date being generally regarded by sportsmen as too early. Sir Joseph promised to consider these and other suggestions made by the deputation, lie leaves for the South to-morrow. NELSON, last night. The rust is badly affecting some of the crops in this district.
