A LADY BALLOONIST.

Miss Moulton, whose previous performances in tonal travelling were referred to lately, has now carried off the Lady’s Cup for long-distance ballooning. Sho has covered 632 miles in air in one journey. This trip beats all previous records for distanco held by lady teronauts. The journey was made in 19 hours. . Miss Moulton started from St. Cloud in t&B balloon “ Centaur," captained by Count dp Oastillion do St. Victor, accompanied by M. Andre-Lcgraud, and the lauding was effected at Kleinwioran, near Breslau. The Count says that it was a great pity they did not manago to cross the Russian frontior, as they hoped to do, having approached so near to it. But a sudden whim of wind, which had boon very steady and strong for 19 hours, obliged them' to come down. The curront changed ab. ruptly whoa thoy were over Breslau, and boro them back in the direction of Franco, They landed as precipitately as possible, as every moment longer in the air meant, under the circumstances, the loss of so many chances of winning tbo prize far distance. There was still 90 kilos of ballast on board, which would have been amply sufficient for continuing the journey , into Russia. ■fiV The Count says that by close observation of the wind at starting ho was able to dhloqlqto the direction in which the ballon would travol to a i-icety.
