A SERIOUS ACCIDENT.
FIREMAN SCALDED TO DEATH.
TWO OTHERS BADLY INJURED

A serious accident occurred aboard the Bteamer iDnamincka. A donkeyjlboiler was in use discharging cargo while tbo main boilers, whioh were iu close proximity, were being cleaned. The tube of the donkey boiler burst, filling the stokehold with steam. All the cleaners, excepting a fireman named Richard Glifie, who was in the main boiler feeding the furnuce, got out. Cliffe was scalded to death. Two other firemen named Cairns and Haigan were badly scalded and sent to the hospital. Received 1,6 a.m., Dec. 11 Sydney, Dec. 10.
At the inquost on the lnnainiucka accident the engineers gave evidence that the donkey tubes were cleaued during the morning, and were apparently in good ordor. The boiler was twelve years old, and was only used at long intervals. After the explosion there was found a holo in the boiler noar one of tubes. The inquest was adjourned.
