The Pyloros’ second olass oabins were severely damaged and submerged. Fifty passengers were drowned. London, Dec. 9. A fire lasting two hours occurred in the boatswain’s storeroom of the cruiser Hormos, at Devonport. The shellroom was flooded at the outset as a precaution. Received 12.32 a.m., Dec. 10. Sydney, Doc. 9. From China files, by rocent typhoons in the China soas, 240 odd fishing boats out of 300 employed off Swatow, wero lost. The approximate loss of life is 2000. The British warship Waterwitch was caught in a typhoon and badly damaged. Two petty officers and a bluejacket were drowned.
