ILLICIT TRADING.

(Per Press Association.)

Wanganui, last night. At the Police Court to-day four men were charged with sly-grog celling at Rae-t-ihi. Alphonso Rush, Alfred Dauphen, and Thomas Weir, were each sentenced to one month without the option of a fine. Each was a first offender, but the Magistrate said he was determined to deal as harshly as the law would allow with those who wilfully and with their eyes open sold liquor unlawfully. A charge against Joseph Punch was dismissed.
