DASHED TO THE GBOUND.
By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright ir Bocoivod 10 a.m., Nov. 29. Brisbane, Nov. 28.
The cricket match was resumed, England continuing their first innings, which ended for 215 runs, or 27 runs behind the first innings of their opponents. The Queensland fielding was good, and Byrne bowled with cxcellont judgment. Crouch got rid of Bosauques by an excellent catch on the boundary. Knight scored with great rapidity, treating all the bowlors alike. Several of the batsmen played Byrne uncomfortably. Strudwick’s innings was a short and merry ono. Ho knockod up his total of 17 by three fours and a five oil successive balls. The disposal of the Englishmen for less than the local men scored evoked immense enthusiasm, but the enjoyment was short-lived, the oponing of the second innings putting quite a different complexion on affairs, the first three wickets going for 16 runs. Subsequently Arnold sent down ten maidens in succession. With five wickots down for 29, the game lookod none too promising for Queensland. Evans and Crouch took the total to 0 9, the former making occasional vigorous strokos. Tbo seventh wicket fell — niso Queensland's fond bopcs. boater joined Crouch, and improvod matters slightly. Crouch, who hud been batting most cautiously, rcachod double figures after being 65 minutes at too wickots. Foster’s 20 took him 86 minutes, and he lost his wicket in attempting to pull Arnold. Byrne lost his wicket just on the call of time.
