The Otago A. and P. Society’s show was commenced to-day, when cattle, sheep, aDd pigs wero judged. In nearly every case an advanco is noticeable. The entries appear to ho Jess than last year, but this is duo to doing away with duplication of entries in various classes. As a matter of fact tho number of animals is greater than usual. There was a good attendance considering the limited attractions. Tho sheep dog trials were interesting. Tho following were the championship winners :—Cattle : Shorthorn, A. Chamberlain, bull Duke of Rothesay and cow Tulip ; Polled Angus, Murray, Roberts aDd Co., bull Mistral, cow Quetta III.; Ayrshire, T, Lees’ bull Lord Kitchener, cow W. Cowan’s Ada II.; Alderneys, bull A. Quortir, Fleming cow ; fat cattle, Wilson and Calder bullock ; J. Holmes was tho only exhibitor in Horefords. Sheep : Merino fine combing Watson and Shannon ram and owe, strong combing W. Telford ram, Watson and Shannon owo; Border Leicesters, Little Bros, ram and owo ; English Leicesters, Little Bros, ram and ewe ; Lincolns, N.Z. and A. Land Company ram and owe ; Romney Marsh, Fulton Trustees ram and ewe; Shropshire, F. Bull rum, B. Seth Smith ewe ; Cheviots, Castlerock Company ram and owe; inbred half-bred, J. Stringfellow ram. In fat sheep in pen, fino longwoo or iongwool crossbred wothors, tho judgo’s comment was, “ Four pens of the finest and best sheep ever exhibited at Tahuna Park.” In pigs Seacliff Asylum secured the great bulk of the prizes. J. Rhodes (Canterbury) and A.'Avery (Oarnaru) secured some firsts. There was a fine show of implements and machinery.
