Miss Ada Crossley gave her first concert in Wellington at the Opera House this evening before an audience which filled every part of the buildiDg, »Dd overflowed on to tho stage, The famous contralto had a most enthusiastic reception. Her generosity in regard to encores was particularly noticeable. As an encore to her last number she sang 11 Home, Sweet Home,” with admirable effect, The barque Felecitas, coal laden from Newcastle to Panama, arrived off the Heads to-day flying signals for a tug. She was brought into port, and turned out to bo leaking badly. After leaving the Australian coast she was biown right down to Cook Btraits. She will be surveyed in the morning.
