DUNEDIN NEWS.

Per Press Association. Dunedin, last night. Charles Warren, seaman, died to-day from injuries received yesterday on the wharf. He was pulling on a taut rope when it broke, aud in the recoil he was struck violently in tho abdomen, receiving internal injuries. It was at firdt thought he was not seriously injured.

The escaped prisoner Otto Herdegon is still at large. A boat is missing from Broad Bay, and it is supposed he has made liis escape from tho Peninsula to tha other side of tbs harbor between the city and Port Chalmers.

At the annual meeting of the Union S.S. Company the report recommending a dividend of per cent., making 8 per cent, for the year, was adopted. Tbe Hod. G, McLean, retiring director, was re-elected.
