GISBORNE WHARF LABORERS.

Peif Press 'Association. Auckland last night. Papers in connection with the dispute between the Gisborne Wharf Laborers, Lightermen, and Stevedores’ Industrial Union and the Gisborne shipping agents have been filed with the Clerk of Awards. The demands of the men are for eight hours a day, 2s 6d for two hours for loading mutton from certain lighters, 2s 6d for one hour and a half and one hour and a quarter from other specified lighters ; 2s 6d for two hours and a half loading from certain lightors, and the same price for the same work but for less time from other lightors. The charge for lightering coal and general merchandise to be Is 6d per hour, and 2s 6d per hour overtime. Double time for Sundays, Christmas Day, Good Friday. Preference is asked for union men, and when the labor of nonunion men is taken they are to receive the union rate of pay.
