DUNEDIN NEWS.
AN ESCAPE. (Per Press Association.) Dunedin, last night. Otto Herdeegen, who was arrested recently on a number of charges of breaking and entering in South Canterbury and Otago, escaped from the prison works at the Heads this afternoon. It is known that he has since succeeded in changing his clothes, so that evidently the escape was pre-arranged. It is believed he is hiding in the bush near Cape Saunders. O FATAL EXPLOSION. John Horens, aged 24, was killed to-day by an explosion of dynamite at Macrae’s, No particulars arc to hand,
