The lamb market' is quiet. The average price to-day of Canterbury brands is 4j|d ; brands other than Canterbury, 4Jd; legs, 4 3 Bd. The beef market is somewhat steadier. Tho average price to-day of hind quartors is 3£d to 3£d, fores 2 3 Bd. The buttor market is woak. The average price of choicest New Zealand is 104 s per cwt, with moderate demand for choicest only. Australian is at 104 s, Argentine 102 s, Danish 113 s, Siberian 935, Irish 107 s, Canadian 98s. The cheese market is steady at the prices cabled last week. The hemp markot is active, at advancing prices. Good, fair Wellington grade on spot is at JS3I 15s. November and December shipments aro over-sold, and now selling at £32, January to Biarch shipments J6Bl 10s. The price of Manila hemp, fair current grade, on spot to day is £37 10s. Tho cocksfoot market is firm, but with littlo doing. Tho average price to-day ofßright, clean New Zealand seed, weighing 171 b per bushel, on spot, is from 50a to 51s per cwt. The weathor is now rather moro favorable, but recoutly the demand has been chiefly for lighter qualities of seed.
