(To the Editor Gisborne Times.)

A young karaka tree doing its best to grow, appealing by its natural loveliness to that wretohod-animal whoso mischievous paws seize on all innocent things thoy can roach to break for very devilment—this karaka was shamefully broken and a leading branch lyiog close by quito freshly destroyed. Cannot some remedy bo applied ? Home influence, alas 1 School influence, rubbish, sir, rubbish ! I wish I ‘.had the beast for three minutes under the cat o’ nino-tails.—l am, etc., Gardener.
