HOUSE OF. REPRESENTATIVES. The House met at 2.30. Mr Seddou announced that tho Public Works Statement debate would ho taken / on Xliursduy night. Tho socond reading debate on tbo Preferential Trade Bill would he taken to morrow night, uud tlio Banking Bill ou Thursday morning. Tne Government Railways Superannuation Funds Bill, Law Practitioners Bill, Agricultural and Pastoral Societies Bill, and Public Health Amendment Bill passed through Committoo without material amenument. .The House resumed at 7.30. The Bank oi’ New Zealand Bill was introduced by Governor’s Message, and read a first time a Mr Seddou briefly explained the main features o£ the Bill, stating that it had been unanimously agreed, to by, the Bank directors and Gov-, crnmciiß Itjyas final in its provisions, and there would be no necessity lor more Bank of New Zealand legislation. lie expressed gratification at the way in which the Bank’s affairs had been managed.

The Public Health Amendment Bill, Kauri Gum Industry Bill, and Irp'lirisonmeiit lor Debt. Limitation Amendment Bill passed the finaL stages,.
