THE MISSION.

At the thanksgiving scrvico, held last ovoning at tho Holy Trinity Churoh, conducted by Bov. H. Braddock, there was a largor attendance than that of any previous mootings hold this wook. Tho missioner gave an excellent and earnest address, and he took for his tost Galatians 3 and 1.: “ Who has bewitched ye.” Ho asked his hearers to imagine a large plain with many different kinds of people all going to and fro, which ho termed the plain of indifference ; at one end there was a high cliff on the top of which was a placo of safety to which many peoplo were trying to get, and tho only way td got thero was by way of the winding path. Messoogors wore sont amongst these peoplo to tell them the way. But at tho same time Satan and his host wore continually very busy deliberately misleading them. Tho devil was not a fiery-tongued, fovky-tailed gontleman, as he is often depicted, but he comes disguised as an angol of light. The Bible tells us so. Ho then instanced many of arguments used by this so-called angol of light, and entroatod his hearers not to be misled. The graphic description of tho picture ho drew in tho minds of his hearors was an able exposition of thb Devil’s methods and the ways many expect to get to heaven, but thoy wero making a sad and fatal mistako, becauso they were under thoßpoll of Satan. This spell or power must be broken, and can only bo douo by obtaining a greater spell or power to do so, viz., that of tho power of Christ. Special thanksgiving prayers and hymns were used. Mr Braddock will hold two moro services only, ono for childron on Sunday afternoon at 2.45, aud tho other in the evening at 7 o’clock. At tho latter sorvico tho anthem “ Kadiant Morn ” will bo suDg by tho choir.
