Out of 750 comprising tbc battaliou, 75 were acquitted and the rest banished to Yemon.
Berlin, Nov. 12. Lieut. Bilsen has been sentenced at Metz to six months’ imprisonment and dismissal from tho service for writing a novel descriptive of life in a small garrison town, grossly slandering his superiors uudor a thin disguise.
New York, Nov. 12. Tho cotton mills at Fall river, Massachusetts, owing to the high price of cottou, have given notice of a 10 per cent reduction in wages affecting 30,000 workers. Received 10.7 p.m., Nov. 12. Sydney, Nov. 12. Heavy rain, up to two inches, fell in the northern districts. It is showery elsewhere. A southerly gale is delaying shipping.
