LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, last night. The Council met at- 2.30. The Companies Bill and Scenery Preservation Bill passed the final stages. The Coastwise Trade Bill was read a second time.
HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES. The House met at 2.30. The Mining Act Amendment Bill passed the final stages. The Coai Mines Acs Amendment Bill was in committee during the rest of the afternoon. The House resumed at 7.30. The Coal Minos Act Amendment Bill passed through Committee. The committal of the Maori Councils Act Amendment Bill was agreed to after a lengthy debate.
