Patrick Laffey, formerly licensee of the Railway Hotel at Milton, who lost his license as tho'result of a decisision of the Commijtee that it hud no jurisdiction afte the local option poll, at which no license was carried, although tho poll was voided, was convicted of two charges of slg-grog selling on October 10th and 12th, and fined £SO on the first information, and JE2S on the second, together with costs. Notice of appeal was given, securities boiog fixed at T 125. Christchurch, last night.
A strong body of police on Saturday night raided a boarding-house occupied by Mrs Parsons, in Manchester street, and seized a quantity of liquor. An information will be laid for sly-grog selling.
