MOTU NOTES.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) I notice with pleasure that the young men of Motu are doing somo very heavy practice in the cricket line ;, this should enable them to become efficient in such a fine sport. They evidently intend during the coming season to make a short tour of outside districts. Mr McGregor has all the frame-work of his factory erected, which is an imposing structure, and adds considerably to the appearance of Motu. His drays are. now busily engaged in the carting of machinery from Gisborne to Motu. The kiln of bricks has been burnt and has turned out satistorily. The makers of these bricks have a surplus stock of some thousands of bricks for private sale, this should be welcome news to Motu settlers. Docking is now about over, and the results have been satisfactory, although the percentage is not so high as Messrs Gilgour Bros., of Kiwetea, who have just docked the remarkable percentage of 143, and that on a flock of 900 ewes.
