Cardinal Moran and Dean O’Haran held a farewell audience of half an hour with the Pope, who was much consoled at tho great progress of Catholicism in Australia. He praised Australia for giving the Church full liberty, aud added that British influence always promoted liberty of religion. The Pope granted all Cardinal Moran’s requests, and made him the depository for all Apostolic benedictions for Australia. Cardinal Moran presented the Pope with a copy of tbe Livos of Irish Saints, also Peter’s Penco from Australia. Tho Pope presented Cardinal Moran with a beautiful silver statue of Our Lady of Hope.
