THE MISSING TOROA.
(Per Press Association.) Grcymoutb, last night. The Magisterial enquiry into the supposed loss «f the auxiliary schooner Toroa, which left here for Wanganui on August 10th, was held to-day. J/he pride nee showed that the ship was a comparatively new ship, was well found and equipped, and not loaded to the Piimsol! load line by two mches, while her fresh water mark was not submerged. She carried 205 tons of coal and four ion 3 of bricks, which would be prevented from shifting by tho centre board. The vessel was fully , ; manned when she left port. The Toroa ; had a month’s oil supply, some being stowed en tho deck and cbo other in the engine-room. There was usually bad weather in the Straits about the time when the vessel should arrive off Cape Farewell. Tho Court found in accordance with the evidence, adding that there was no evidence to show how the vessel was lost.
