Per Press Association. Wellington, last night. A statement of receipts and expenditure of the consolidated fund for tho quarter ended September 30, published in last night’s Gazotto, shows that the balance at the end of last quarter, less Treasury bills outstanding (£800,000), amounted to £47,945. Ordinary revenue during the quarter yielded £1.570,497, the leading sources of incomo being: Customs £693,520, railways £502,928, stamps £241,774 ; territorial revenue amounted to £81,885, and recoveries on account of expenditure of previous quarters to £l4 372. The total receipts were £1714,251. On the expenditure side of the account, permanent appropriations absorbed £357,425. Included m this sum is interest and sin King fund £165,917, old age pensions £55,796. The payments on annual appropriations amounted to J?QI9 3R2 The cash in tho public account at the end of the quarter was £576,607, and the quarter ended with a net available balance of £444,443.
