Admiral Fansbawe, who arrived by tho Royal Arthur from tho admirals’ conference at Singapore, says the i.Euryalus is expected at the beginning of the year to replace the Royal Arthur. The Psyche would replace tbo Archer. In reply to enquiry he did not think -Fremantle would become tho West Australian naval base. Albany had a better harbor to defend, and was more suitable. Admiral Fansbawe states that a conference was held with Sir Cyprian Bridge, of the' China station, Rear-Admiral AtkinsonrWilis, of tho East India station, at Aguilla, Johoro, 18 miles from Singapore. He could say nothing in regard to tho conference; There were no disquieting symptoms with regard to the Eastern question. Everything was very quiet.
