Very little work of importance waa done at Riccarton this morning. Roseal was not extended during tllS first PCll’t of ft tWO* mile gallop, the last mile and a quarter of which took 2.19. Though not on a timemaking mission the colt pleased onlookers greatly. Treadmill easily beat Golden Vein over a mile aud a-quarter in 2.14 L and Quarryman did alike task in the same time. Windwhistle, Bravo Heart, aad Djin Djin did a mile in 1.43, the firstnamed appearing to advantage. Stepdancer, with a pull in the weights, was too good for Firebrand at the end of a mile in 1.47 Strathavon got over a mile and aquarter comfortably in being brought home by Huku. There was little to choose between Gladsome and Lolah at the end of six furlongs, run in 1.184. After doin g sprinting work the Cup candidate Great Gun pulled up lame.
