HAWKE'S BAY SHOW.

(Per Press Association.) Napier, last night.

Beautiful weather prevailed for People’s Day, and the natural result was an enormous, attendance.

The following are additional champion awards t-j-Borkshire sow, J. Jarvis ; boar, Slack Bros.; Yorkshire sow, B. G. Gray ; boar, B. G. Gray ; Tams worth sow, M elson Bros.; boar, E. White ; black Devon sow, C. ‘Hopping; boar, G. Hopping; thoroughbred sire, M. Douglas’s San Eran. Border Leicester ram, Nelson Bros ; ewe, Hon. Hr Ormond; Romney ram, Hutchinson Bros. ; owe, W. Bullen. Later.—Tho Hawke’s Bay Agricultural and Pastoral Society were favored with fine weathor to-day for the second day, and the result was a record attendance, about 14,000 people being on the ground. The display of hacks and carriage horses was a very good one. The show of pies was the best 7et seen in Hawko’s Bay, ohief honors being fairly equally divided between the Manawatu breeders, Messrs Slack Brps., J. Jarvis, B. Gray, and E. White. ♦'The last-named exhibitor secured the points prize, while in addition to the championships previously awarded, Mr J. Jarvis gained that for Taoiworth boar. There wa3 a fine collection of poultry, the points prize beiDg divided between Mr S. Orowther-and Messrs Tapiin Bros. The points prize for dogs was won by Mr W. A. Smith. The Native industries section contained nearly 200 exhibits, and was a very attractive feature of the Show. A sheap shearing competition was won by Mr Henry Gemmell. The leapiug competition was won by Mr H. Hassall’s Pickpocket, ’■ Miss Reynolds’ King Jimmy second, Mrs D, G. Riddiford’s Gay Boy third. A handicap wood-chopping competition was won by Mr M. McDonald. The railway returns indioated a very large increase on the attendance over last year’s total. '' The Lloyd-Lindsay competition was won by the Hawke’s Bay Mounted Rifles, South Wairarapa Mounted Rifles being second, and Feilding Mounted Rifles third.
