ADDINGTON MARKET.

(Per Press Association.) Christchurch, last night. Tho Addington salos took place today.

Fat cattle : 235 came forward, including some of excellent quality. The demand was keen, and although a fow pens were passed early in the sale, late rates were well maintained, Beef sold at from 28s to 32s 6d per lOOlbs, bullocks £1 17b 6d to £l6 7s 6d, heifers £6 10a to £lO 7s 6d, cows £5 15s to £lO.

Fat sheep : The entry was small, and though a few pens Oontained very prime sheep, the bulk wore only of medium quality. The shortage of prime mutton had the effect of raising prices during tho early part of tho sale, though they eased again towards tho close. Prime woolly wethers brought 22s 6d to 263 6d, oxtra 32s 6d, lighter 20s to 225, shorn wethors 17s 3d to 21 103, merino wethers 9s to 28s 4d, prime woolly ewes 20s to 24s 6d, extra 28s, lighter 15 to 18s, shorn owes 16s Id to 17s 3d, hoggets 19s Id to 21s 9d. Fat lambs : 65 were entered. Prices were on a par with last week’s, 16s to 22s for prime and 12s 9d to 16s 6d for lighter sorts.

Store sheep: 1200 came forward. Practically all wore sold at recent rates, and for shorn wethers a slight rise was noticeable. Wethors brought 16s 2d to 20s, owes and lambs all counted 11s 4d, shorn hoggets 14s to 14s sd,

Pigs: There was a good yarding. Heavy baconers were oasier. Baconors brought 44s to 675, equal to 4Jd to 5d per o lb; porkers, 33s to 425, equal to s£d per lb.
