A WOMAN’S DEATH.
AND THE HUSBAND’S INHUMAN CONDUCT.
(Per Press Association.) Auckland, last night. At the inquest touching the death of Eliza Squirrell, tho jury returned a verdict that death was due to starvation, hastened by lack of attention and want of competent nursing, and added a rider stating that they considered deceased’s husband, Robert Squirrell, should be censured for failing to provide deceased with proper attention, food, and nursing. Tho Coroner, in communicating the finding of the jury to the husband of deceased, said he entirely concurred with the verdict. The husband might think himself fortunate if further proceedings were not taken by the police before a Magistrate.
