LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL.

Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, last night. The Council met at 2.30. The Crown Grants Municipal Corporations and Water Power Bill was read a second time. The Council resumed at 7.30. The Cook Islands Bill passed the final stages.

HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES The House met at 2.30.

The Native Land Rating Bill was read a Bacond time pro forma. The New Zealand Institute, Poukawa Native Reserve, and Clutha Floods Relief Fund Bills passed their final stages. Mr Seddon moved tho second reading of the Public Loans Renowal Bill, to facilitate renewal of certain public loans by extending existing statutory provisions under which the loans were raised. The debate was interrupted by the 5.30 adjournment. *
