AN ARCHBISHOP CURSES THE CZAR.
By TelegraDh—Press Association—Copyright Received 10.31 p.m., Oct. 19 Constantinople, Oct. 19. Many of the Macedonian refugees are becoming Catholics in order to return under foreign protection. Petroff, the Bulgarian Premier, speaking at Plrilippopohs, stated that although the situation was very critical, ho bolieved a pacific understanding would bo arranged with Turkey. The Armenian Archbishop of Tifiis, cursed the Czar from the pulpit, declaring him a cruel despot and sacriiigious plunderer of church property. The congregation echoed the cries.
The Cossacks arrested the Arohbishop and knouted the congregation.
