Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, last night. The Council met at 2.30. Further progress was made in Committee on tho Shipping and Seamen Bill. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES. The House met at 2.30. The Gold Duties Bill, Crown Grants Act Amendment Bill, and Products Export Bill paesed tho final stages. 1 Mr Arnold moved for recommittal of tho Industrial Concilation and Arbitration Amendment Bill, for tho purpose of considering a new clause providing for compulsory preference to unionists. After a lengthy discussion this was lost by 43 to 19. The House resumed at 7.30. The Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Amendment Bill and Animals Protection Amendment Bill passed the final stages.
