In a full House, the galleries being densely crowded, tho Senate resumed the debate on tho Capital Site Bill. The discussion was again very animated, centring chiefly round tho 1000 milo area, which is strongly opposed. From tho speeches it soon became evident that Bombala was most favored, Tumut being out of the running as far as the Senate is concerned, and when it came to the vote, the House by 19 to 10 choso Bombala for insertion in the Bill. A scheme for a? elaborate ballot similar to that taken for representatives was abandoned. Tbe various sites were put in tho ordinary way. ' Mr Pulsford, of New South Wales, moved to place Lyndhurst before Tumut, which was negatived by 21 to G. Mr Fraser, Victoria, moved in favor of Albury ; negatived by 23 to 6. Air Clemons, Tasmania, brought the climax by moving the insertion of Bombala, which was carried amidst considerable excitement and cheering Tumut was then formally eliminated. Now tho Senate is discussing a motion dealing with the vexed question of area.
