There is splendid weather for Labor Day, which is boing observed generally as a holiday. The labor demonstration this year haß been in the form of a monster picnic. A deputation yesterday asked tho Premier to postpone consideration of the Friendly Societies’ Amendment Bill in order to allow the whole of the societies to discuss the provisions of the Bill during the recess. The Premier expressed his willingness to concur with the request, and promised to bring the matter before the Cabinot.
